Hopocalypse Day 2016

January 23, 2016
Drake’s Brewery
1933 Davis Street
San Leandro, CA 94577

I was lucky enough to have my good friends at help out with a ticket and line placement. This year’s approach, though I have only gone to last years, was different in that there were guest breweries represented bringing their best IPA (single, double, triple, and quadruple) offerings. Also, it was a ticketed event, as the ticket got you entrance to the festival, a souvenir glass, and 4 drink tickets. The previous year was just a lineup and buy bottles/kegs/growler fills of just the Hopocalypse Black and Green label offerings. This year Hopocalypse had the Black and Green label, but also just on tap Red and White label. The Red being a Blood Orange IPA, and the White being a Wheat IPA. The rain came and went but the day ended up being pretty sunny between passing rainclouds. I look forward to future events in this format as I am an Untappd Check-In whore.

The Brick Hutt

420 Mendocino Ave
Santa Rosa, CA 95401
Tues.-Fri. 9-6, Sat. 9-5

A walk away from Russian River Brewing and Third Street Aleworks in Santa Rosa, I found this little Lego store. I usually see them at the yearly Lego Convention in Santa Clara. They sell “gently used” bricks by the single or lb., a few complete minifigures, and they also have a few sealed older boxed sets for a bit more than what they retailed for (due to rarity, age, etc.).

I spent less than $1.50 and got a few tiny pieces I thought I might need.
